Recognize suspicious messages and scams
Stop replying if someone pressures you to pay, requests credentials, sends suspicious links or files, or provides inconsistent information. Avoid suspicious links, report the issue and block the sender when appropriate.
Common warning signs include:
- Pressure to act or pay immediately
- Requests for passwords, one-time codes or full card information
- Payment to an unrelated person or unusual account
- A link that imitates GuideMeet but uses another domain
- Claims that your account will be closed unless you share credentials
- Inconsistent identity, profile or trip information
- Requests to install unknown software or open an unexpected file
Stop replying and do not select suspicious links. Use the contextual report action, block the sender when appropriate and preserve only the evidence you already have. If money or identity information was exposed, contact the relevant financial provider or local authority as appropriate and secure your accounts.
GuideMeet cannot guarantee recovery of off-platform payments or data.
