Submit a Privacy Request
Guide Meet Pvt. Ltd. ("GuideMeet," "we," "us" or "our") provides this page for people who want to exercise an eligible privacy right or ask how their personal information is handled.
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may be able to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or another privacy choice. Privacy rights vary by jurisdiction and are not absolute.
Users in Nepal may submit requests concerning their personal information under applicable Nepali law. GuideMeet also provides the broader privacy-request options described in its Privacy Policy, although particular statutory rights and exceptions may vary depending on the circumstances.
Requests You Can Make
Access or know
Ask whether GuideMeet processes your personal information and request eligible information about:
- the personal information we hold about you;
- categories and specific pieces of information where required;
- why we process it;
- where it came from;
- categories of recipients or service providers; and
- applicable retention information.
Receive a copy or export
Request an eligible copy of your personal information or a portable export in a commonly used format where applicable and technically feasible.
An export may not include information that belongs to another person, legally privileged material, security-sensitive information, confidential internal analysis or information that an applicable exception permits us to withhold.
Correct information
Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information. Some profile and account details may be editable directly in your GuideMeet settings.
Corrections to a public Guide Profile, licence, certification or verification record may require supporting evidence and may trigger re-verification. GuideMeet will not alter an accurate moderation, payment or safety record merely because a user disagrees with it.
Delete information or close an account
Ask us to delete eligible personal information or close your GuideMeet account.
Deletion is not always immediate or complete. We may retain information where permitted or required for:
- legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations;
- subscription and payment records;
- security, fraud prevention and abuse detection;
- safety reports, moderation and appeals;
- dispute resolution and legal claims;
- enforcement of the Terms of Use;
- protecting the rights of other users; or
- backups and disaster recovery until routine deletion or isolation.
Deleting an account may remove or deactivate your Guide Profile and access to Messages, saved Guides, Insights, verification information, reviews, collaboration records and other account features. Some content may remain where legally permitted—for example, records needed by another user, de-identified content, transaction records, safety evidence or content retained to protect lawful expression and other users’ rights.
Reviews written by other users are not automatically removed solely because the reviewed account is closed. They remain subject to the Review Rules, Community & Messaging Guidelines and applicable law.
Restrict or object to processing
Ask GuideMeet to restrict or stop eligible processing where applicable law provides that right. Tell us which processing concerns you and why.
We may continue processing where we have overriding lawful grounds or where information is needed for security, fraud prevention, contractual obligations, freedom of expression, legal compliance or legal claims.
Withdraw consent
Withdraw consent for future processing that relies on your consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully completed before consent was withdrawn and does not prevent processing based on another lawful ground.
For Traveler Referral consent, you may decline a pending Referral or withdraw consent for future disclosure. Withdrawal cannot reverse information already lawfully shared with a Guide before withdrawal.
Marketing and notification choices
You can unsubscribe from promotional email through the link in the message or available account settings. GuideMeet may still send necessary non-promotional communications about account security, Messages, Inquiries, subscriptions, Services, legal notices, safety, moderation or requested support.
Cookie choices should normally be managed through Cookie Settings rather than through this form.
Sale, sharing and targeted-advertising opt-out
GuideMeet does not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are described in the Privacy Policy.
Where applicable law provides a right to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or eligible profiling, you may still submit that request here. GuideMeet will also assess and honor recognized browser-based opt-out signals where legally required.
If GuideMeet’s practices change, we will update the Privacy Policy and provide any legally required opt-out method before beginning the relevant activity.
Limit use of sensitive personal information
Where applicable law provides this right, ask GuideMeet to limit eligible uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information. Some sensitive information may still be processed where necessary to provide a requested feature, protect account security, prevent fraud, verify a Guide, comply with law or protect users.
Automated decisions and human review
Ask for information about, object to or request eligible human review of a decision made solely through automated processing where applicable law provides that right.
GuideMeet may use automated signals to assist with spam, fraud, safety, ranking, recommendation or moderation. Not every automated or assisted process creates a legal right to human review. The Privacy Policy and relevant feature notice describe applicable processing.
Appeal a privacy decision
If GuideMeet denies or limits an eligible request, you may appeal where applicable by replying to the decision with the subject “Privacy Appeal” or using the appeal option on this page.
Ask another privacy question
Use this option for a privacy concern not covered above, including a concern about another person’s information, information involving a minor or suspected unauthorized use of personal information.
Use https://guidemeet.com/report for safety or content misconduct. Email us at support@guidemeet.com for a security vulnerability. Do not submit passwords, private keys or full payment-card details through this form.
Public Images and Image-Protection Processing
GuideMeet may process public images uploaded to Guide Profiles, Guide Services, packages, Guide Insights and other future public Guide content.
Public images may be:
- resized and optimized into standard public versions;
- displayed with a visible GuideMeet platform watermark;
- assigned a signed, opaque invisible GuideMeet asset identifier;
- processed with standardized rights metadata; and
- delivered through GuideMeet’s public CDN.
These measures help identify GuideMeet as the hosting platform and support investigations into unauthorized reuse. They do not prevent all downloading, screenshots, copying or other forms of reuse.
The visible watermark is intended to identify GuideMeet as the hosting platform. It does not state or imply that an image is:
- “Verified by GuideMeet”;
- “GuideMeet Approved”;
- “GuideMeet Certified”; or
- owned by GuideMeet.
GuideMeet will not identify itself as the copyright owner unless it actually owns the relevant image. Ownership remains with the applicable rights holder.
GuideMeet may apply a small or no visible watermark to profile avatars where a watermark would be unreadable or would interfere with normal display.
GuideMeet will not publicly watermark or expose:
- identity documents;
- licences and certificates;
- verification photographs;
- report evidence;
- private-message attachments;
- consultation documents;
- payment documents; or
- images marked private.
Original uploaded images are stored separately in encrypted private storage and are not made available through public URLs or a “view original” endpoint. Public copies are resized, sanitized and delivered separately.
GuideMeet may use CDN and web-application firewall controls to rate-limit excessive downloads, detect sequential profile harvesting, challenge suspicious automated requests, restrict abusive hotlinking, block abusive traffic and record suspicious download patterns. These controls are not intended to prevent ordinary access or legitimate search visibility. GuideMeet does not globally block Google Images solely to apply image protection.
GuideMeet may use image hashes and an internal public asset token to manage public image copies, identify duplicates, support deletion and investigate suspected unauthorized reuse. The token is designed not to contain personal information.
Image upload notice
The following notice should appear directly below every uploader for a public image:
Public images may be resized, optimized and displayed with visible or invisible GuideMeet platform identifiers and standardized rights metadata. These measures identify GuideMeet as the hosting platform and help investigate unauthorized reuse. They do not transfer ownership of the image to GuideMeet or constitute verification or endorsement.
The uploader must also confirm:
I confirm that I own this image or have the permissions and consents necessary to upload and publicly display it.
Account Deletion and Guide Subscriptions
A privacy deletion request and a Guide subscription cancellation are related but separate actions.
If you have an active paid Guide subscription:
- cancel renewal through the available billing settings or follow https://guidemeet.com/guide-subscription-policy;
- state in your privacy request whether you also want the account closed; and
- keep the cancellation confirmation and privacy-request case reference.
Submitting a privacy request does not by itself guarantee an immediate subscription cancellation or refund. Subscription charges, cancellation and refunds are governed by the Guide Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy and applicable law.
Before deleting an account, GuideMeet’s workflow should identify any active recurring subscription and clearly confirm its status so account closure does not obscure future billing information.
When a public image is deleted, GuideMeet should:
- remove it immediately from the relevant Guide Profile or other public content;
- invalidate or purge public CDN copies;
- mark the image asset as deleted;
- remove the private original according to the applicable retention schedule;
- preserve it only where required for an active report, dispute, legal hold or security investigation; and
- record the deletion in the audit log.
Account closure triggers the same image-removal process for images associated with the account.
Who May Submit a Request
You may submit a request:
- for yourself;
- as an authorized agent where permitted by applicable law;
- as a parent, guardian or other lawful representative where appropriate; or
- for another person where you have valid legal authority.
GuideMeet accounts are intended for people aged 18 or older. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account or provided personal information contrary to the Privacy Policy, select “Information involving a minor.”
We may require proof of authorization and may also verify the identity of the person whose information is involved. An authorized agent must not submit a request without the individual’s permission or other lawful authority.
Information to Include
Provide only what is reasonably necessary to locate your information and understand the request:
- full name;
- email address or telephone number connected to the account;
- GuideMeet profile URL or username, if applicable;
- country or state of residence;
- your relationship to the person concerned;
- the privacy right or choice you want to exercise;
- relevant dates, features or interactions;
- the scope of the information involved; and
- your preferred response method and any accessibility or language assistance needed.
Do not send your password, full card number, security code, private key or unnecessary copies of identity documents.
How to Submit a Request
Online form
Use the privacy-request form on this page. You should be able to submit a request without purchasing a Guide subscription.
Email legal@guidemeet.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” Include enough information to identify the relevant account and explain the request.
Account settings
Use available self-service account settings for profile corrections, marketing choices, data export, subscription controls or account closure where those features are enabled.
Do not send a privacy request only through social media or to an individual GuideMeet employee. Those channels may not be monitored for rights requests.
Identity Verification
We need to protect your information from unauthorized access, deletion or disclosure. GuideMeet may verify your identity and authority using information already associated with the account or request.
GuideMeet will request only information reasonably necessary to verify the requester’s identity and, where relevant, the requester’s authority to act for another person.
Verification may include:
- confirming control of an account email address or telephone number;
- requiring authentication through the GuideMeet account;
- comparing limited information supplied with existing records;
- requesting proof of authorization for an agent or representative; or
- requesting additional evidence where the request is sensitive or the risk of impersonation is high.
GuideMeet will use a verification method proportionate to the request and minimize additional information collected. If an identity document is exceptionally necessary, we will provide a secure method, request only what is needed and apply an appropriate retention period.
GuideMeet will never ask for your account password by email.
If we cannot reasonably verify identity or authority, we may ask for more information, limit the response or decline the request where permitted by law. We will explain the decision where legally permitted.
What Happens After Submission
GuideMeet may:
- acknowledge the request and provide a case reference;
- determine which law and rights apply;
- verify identity and authority;
- clarify the scope where reasonably necessary;
- search relevant systems and service providers;
- assess applicable exceptions and the rights of other people;
- fulfil the request in whole or in part, or explain a lawful refusal; and
- provide appeal or regulator information where required.
GuideMeet will respond within the period required by applicable law. If an extension is permitted and reasonably necessary, we will notify you as required and explain the reason.
Time needed to verify identity or clarify a request may affect the response period as permitted by applicable law.
Limits and Exceptions
Privacy rights are not absolute. Depending on applicable law, GuideMeet may decline or limit a request where necessary to:
- protect another person’s rights, privacy or safety;
- prevent fraud, abuse, spam or security incidents;
- comply with legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations;
- perform or document a transaction or subscription;
- preserve freedom of expression or lawful user content;
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- protect legally privileged or confidential information;
- maintain the integrity of verification and moderation systems;
- retain de-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you; or
- address a request that is manifestly unfounded, excessive, repetitive or abusive where applicable law permits.
GuideMeet will assess requests individually. We will not treat a request as excessive merely because it involves a substantial amount of information or because you previously exercised a privacy right.
Fees
GuideMeet does not ordinarily charge for a valid privacy request. Where applicable law permits a reasonable fee for an excessive, repetitive or additional-copy request, we will explain the basis and amount before proceeding. GuideMeet will not use a fee to discourage legitimate exercise of privacy rights.
Protecting Other People’s Information
An access or export request generally entitles you to eligible personal information about you, not unrestricted copies of every document, message or record in which your name appears.
We may redact or withhold information about another person, confidential internal information, legally privileged material, security-sensitive data or information restricted by law. We may provide a summary or extracted information where that appropriately fulfills the request while protecting others.
Messages, Referrals, collaborations, reviews, reports and Services may contain information about more than one person. GuideMeet will assess those records carefully rather than automatically disclosing or deleting the entire record.
Appeals and Complaints
If you disagree with GuideMeet’s privacy-request decision, reply within 7 days with the subject “Privacy Appeal” and include:
- the case reference;
- the part of the decision you dispute;
- why you believe it should be reconsidered; and
- any material supporting information.
Where reasonably practicable, the appeal should be reviewed by a person who was not solely responsible for the original decision.
If GuideMeet cannot resolve your concern, you may have the right to complain to a competent privacy, data-protection, consumer-protection or other authority in your jurisdiction. GuideMeet will provide relevant authority information where required by applicable law.
Non-Discrimination and No Retaliation
GuideMeet will not unlawfully discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising an eligible privacy right. Exercising a privacy right does not entitle a user to bypass the Terms of Use, avoid a valid charge or prevent lawful safety, fraud, verification or moderation processing.
Security Incident or Account Takeover
If you believe your GuideMeet account has been compromised, change your password where possible and contact support@guidemeet.com immediately. A privacy request is not a real-time security-response channel.
Do not use this form to report an immediate physical emergency. Contact the appropriate local authorities or emergency services first.
