About Aryu
Hi, I’m Aryu, a local tour guide and the founder of R U Tour & Trek, based in Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand.
My journey into tourism wasn’t something I planned from the beginning. After working for almost ten years, I decided to leave my job and build something of my own. In 2024, I started R U Tour & Trek with a simple idea: to share Northern Thailand through experiences that feel real, personal, and meaningful.
For me, travelling is not just about visiting famous places and taking photos. It is about meeting people, walking through the forest, eating local food, learning about different cultures, and seeing how people actually live.
Growing up in Northern Thailand has given me a close connection with the mountains, forests, villages, and local communities. These are places that I know not only as a guide, but as part of the environment I have lived around for much of my life.
Through my tours, I want travelers to experience a different side of Thailand. Of course, I can take you to famous places such as the White Temple, Blue Temple, the Golden Triangle, and other well-known attractions. But I also enjoy taking people away from the usual tourist routes — into the forest, through mountain trails, to local villages, waterfalls, rice fields, and places where you can slow down and experience the landscape around you.
One of my favorite parts of guiding is sharing simple local experiences. Cooking food in the forest, making things from bamboo, drinking tea in a mountain village, walking through a rice field, or sitting together after a long hike may sound simple, but these are often the moments travelers remember the most.
I also believe that every traveler is different. Some people want a challenging trek, while others simply want to walk through nature at a relaxed pace. Some are interested in culture and local communities, while others want food, scenery, photography, or a private experience. That is why I try to keep my tours flexible and personal rather than treating every group exactly the same.
Running a small tourism business has not always been easy. There have been quiet seasons, canceled bookings, financial challenges, and many moments when I questioned whether I was making the right decision. But those experiences have also taught me to keep learning, adapt, and continue improving.
Today, I’m still building R U Tour & Trek step by step. My goal is not to become the biggest tour company. I want to build a small, trusted business where travelers feel welcomed, safe, and genuinely connected to Northern Thailand.
If you travel with me, I hope you won’t just leave with photographs. I hope you leave with a story — a memory of the people you met, the food you shared, the trail you walked, the mountains you saw, and a little more understanding of the place you visited.
Northern Thailand is my home. I’d be happy to show you around.
