Namaste! I’m Ashok Khanal, a professional trekking guide from Nepal with 8 years of experience guiding travelers across the country's diverse Himalayan landscapes. Trekking has allowed me to work with people from different backgrounds while sharing the mountains, culture, and communities that make Nepal special. I am originally from Gorkha, where I grew up in the surroundings of the Manaslu mountains. This connection with the Himalayan environment has given me a strong appreciation for mountain life and the communities that depend on these landscapes. I particularly enjoy helping travelers experience the mountains while gaining a better understanding of the places and people along the trail. Over the years, I have guided across a wide range of Nepal's trekking destinations, including Manaslu, Annapurna Circuit, Kanchenjunga, Dolpo, Mardi, and Upper Mustang. My experience across different regions has helped me become familiar with varied trekking environments, routes, local communities, and the different experiences each destination offers. For me, good guiding is about more than simply leading the way. I believe a guide should be dependable throughout the journey, communicate clearly with travelers, understand the practical demands of trekking, and help create a comfortable and enjoyable experience on the trail. I speak Nepali, English, and Hindi, allowing me to communicate with travelers from different backgrounds.
