About Bhum
I am Bhum Raj Tiwari, a professional tour guide from Nepal with more than 18 years of experience guiding travelers through Kathmandu Valley and other destinations across the country. Over the years, I have worked with visitors from different parts of the world and helped them understand Nepal through its history, culture, religious traditions, heritage sites, communities, and everyday local life.
My main area of experience is Kathmandu Valley, including Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan. I enjoy guiding travelers through historic squares, temples, monasteries, traditional neighborhoods, cultural landmarks, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Rather than simply showing places, I like to explain the history behind them, the beliefs and traditions connected to them, and how these places continue to be part of everyday life in Nepal.
I have a strong interest in Nepalese history, spirituality, architecture, festivals, customs, and local traditions. During a tour, I try to make these subjects easy and interesting for travelers to understand. I also enjoy walking through local streets and neighborhoods, introducing guests to daily life, local markets, traditional practices, and the small details that often make a journey more meaningful.
For me, guiding is about creating a connection between the traveler and the place. Every guest has different interests, so I try to adapt the experience accordingly, whether someone wants to focus on history, religion, architecture, local culture, photography, or simply gain a deeper understanding of Nepal. My aim is to provide an informative, welcoming, comfortable, and memorable experience while helping travelers discover the stories and traditions that make Nepal unique.
