About Dawa
I am a government-certified trekking guide from Shey Phoksundo in Dolpa, Nepal, with 8 years of experience in Himalayan trekking. I have worked across remote trekking areas including Dolpo, Mugu, Mustang, and Humla. Growing up in Dolpa has given me a close connection with the landscapes, communities, culture, and traditional way of life of western Nepal.
Much of my guiding experience is in remote and high-altitude areas where good preparation, route knowledge, and flexibility are important. I help travelers understand the trail, local conditions, culture, and everyday life of the communities we pass through. I also pay attention to pacing, communication, and practical support throughout the journey.
I enjoy introducing travelers to the quieter and less-visited side of Nepal. These journeys can include remote mountain villages, monasteries, high valleys, lakes, passes, and wide Himalayan landscapes. I believe travel should respect local communities, traditions, and the natural environment while giving visitors a meaningful experience of the places they visit.
I can communicate in English, Nepali, Tibetan, Hindi, and French. I enjoy working with travelers interested in trekking, nature, culture, and remote Himalayan journeys. I can also support customized trekking plans according to a traveler's available time, interests, and trekking experience, with the goal of making each journey well organized, informative, and memorable.
