About Dhruba
I have been working as a freelance tour and trekking guide in Nepal for the past 15 years. During this time, I have had the opportunity to introduce visitors from different parts of the world to Nepal’s mountains, cities, cultural sites, natural landscapes, and local communities. My experience includes both trekking and city guiding, which allows me to work with travelers who want to explore Nepal’s outdoor beauty as well as those who are interested in its history, traditions, religion, architecture, and everyday life.
I completed my Master’s degree from Tribhuvan University. I chose tourism as my profession because it gives me an opportunity to represent Nepal and share the country with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I enjoy helping travelers understand the places they visit rather than simply taking them from one attraction to another.
Nepal has remarkable diversity within a relatively small country. Travelers can experience Himalayan landscapes, historic cities, temples and heritage sites, traditional villages, different ethnic communities, religious traditions, forests, rivers, and mountain trails. While famous destinations are an important part of Nepal, I also enjoy introducing visitors to lesser-known places, local stories, and experiences that can easily be missed when traveling without local knowledge.
As a guide, I believe a meaningful journey is built through good communication, responsible guidance, local understanding, and genuine hospitality. I try to understand what each traveler is interested in and adjust the experience accordingly. Whether I am guiding someone through a historic city or accompanying them on a trekking route, my aim is to make the journey informative, comfortable, enjoyable, and memorable.
I am fluent in English and Hindi and have basic knowledge of Arabic. Working with international visitors for many years has helped me understand different expectations, travel styles, and cultural backgrounds. For me, guiding is not only about showing places. It is about sharing Nepal’s stories, culture, hospitality, landscapes, and way of life with visitors in a personal and respectful way.
