Gakul Ale Magar

I am Gakul Ale Magar, a professional trekking guide from Nepal with more than 8 years of experience in the tourism industry. I began working in trekking in 2018 and spent around five years working as a porter before moving into professional guiding. Starting from the porter level gave me practical experience of the trails, mountain conditions, guest support, teamwork, and the daily realities of trekking in Nepal. Over the years, I have worked in some of Nepal’s most popular mountain regions, especially the Annapurna and Everest regions. My trekking experience includes Annapurna Base Camp, Mardi Himal Base Camp, Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Ri, Poon Hill, and Pikey Peak. I also enjoy shorter hikes and mountain motorbike adventures, which gives me experience with travelers looking for both classic trekking routes and more flexible mountain experiences. Safety is one of the most important parts of my work. I pay attention to trail conditions, altitude, walking pace, weather, guest comfort, and the needs of each traveler. I also enjoy helping guests understand Nepal beyond the mountain scenery by sharing local culture, village life, traditions, and everyday experiences along the route. I like to keep trips personal and flexible because every traveler has a different level of fitness, experience, interest, and expectation. My aim is to help guests enjoy the mountains at a comfortable pace while making the journey safe, well-organized, and memorable. Whether the trip is a major base camp trek, a scenic short hike, or a mountain adventure, I try to make every guest feel supported throughout the journey.
