About Jit
My name is Jit Bahadur Lama, and I am a professional trekking guide from Nepal. I have been working as a guide since 2008, building many years of practical experience on trekking trails across the Himalayas. Over the years, I have guided travelers through popular trekking regions as well as remote and physically demanding routes, giving me a strong understanding of trail conditions, altitude, local communities, accommodation points, and the day-to-day needs of trekkers in the mountains.
A large part of my guiding experience is in the Everest region. I have guided trips to Everest Base Camp and across the Everest Three Passes area, where trekkers experience high-altitude trails, mountain passes, Sherpa settlements, and changing Himalayan conditions. I am familiar with the importance of proper pacing, acclimatization, route planning, and observing how individual trekkers are responding to altitude and long trekking days.
I also have extensive experience in the Annapurna region, including the Annapurna Circuit, Annapurna Base Camp, and Mardi Himal. These routes have allowed me to work with travelers with different levels of trekking experience, from people visiting Nepal for their first major Himalayan trek to experienced trekkers looking for longer and more challenging journeys. I enjoy helping guests understand the landscapes, villages, cultures, and everyday life they encounter along the way.
My guiding experience also includes Langtang and Gosaikunda, Kanchenjunga, the Dhaulagiri Circuit, Mustang, and other trekking areas of Nepal. Working across such different regions has given me experience with a wide variety of terrain, from established lodge-based trekking routes to more remote mountain environments where careful preparation and good route knowledge are especially important.
In addition to trekking, I have experience in the Mera Peak area, which has added to my knowledge of high-altitude mountain travel and trekking connected with peak-climbing journeys. My priority while guiding is to help travelers have a safe, organized, comfortable, and memorable experience. I believe a good guide should understand the route while also paying attention to the individual traveler, adjusting the pace when necessary and helping guests feel confident throughout their journey.
I enjoy meeting travelers from different countries and sharing the natural beauty, mountain culture, traditions, and local lifestyle of Nepal with them. After guiding since 2008, I continue to enjoy every journey because each group, route, and mountain experience is different. My goal is to help guests experience the Himalayas responsibly while creating meaningful memories of their time in Nepal.
