About Laxman
My name is Laxman Kulung, and I am a professional trekking and tour guide from Mahakulung Rural Municipality in Solukhumbu, eastern Nepal. Growing up in a Himalayan region has given me a close connection with Nepal’s mountains, local communities, traditions and way of life. I enjoy introducing travelers not only to the landscapes of Nepal, but also to the people, culture and stories connected with each destination.
I have experience guiding travelers on trekking routes and tourism journeys across different parts of Nepal. My trekking experience includes Everest Base Camp, the Everest Three Passes, Annapurna Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Langtang Valley, Gosaikunda, Khopra Ridge and Mulde Viewpoint, Ghorepani Poon Hill, Nar Phu, Upper Mustang and Pikey Peak. These journeys have helped me build practical knowledge of mountain trails, changing terrain, local settlements and the needs of travelers during multi-day treks.
As a guide, my priority is to help guests travel safely, comfortably and confidently. I enjoy meeting travelers from different countries and creating an atmosphere where they feel welcomed and supported throughout their journey. I also enjoy sharing information about Nepal’s mountains, local communities, Buddhist and Hindu traditions, food, lifestyle and heritage.
Along with trekking, I also have experience as a tour guide. This allows me to work with travelers who are interested in cultural and sightseeing experiences as well as mountain adventures. I especially enjoy explaining local traditions, religious practices, community life and the cultural diversity found across Nepal.
I believe a good guide does more than show the trail. A guide should understand the traveler, communicate clearly, help solve problems and create a journey that feels safe, enjoyable and meaningful. My goal is to make every guest feel welcomed, happy and connected with Nepal while experiencing its mountains, culture and communities.
