Lhakpa Sherpa

I am Lhakpa Sherpa, a professional trekking guide from Solukhumbu with more than 8 years of experience in Nepal's trekking industry. Being from the Everest region has given me a close connection to the mountains, local communities and trekking trails of Khumbu from an early age. Over the years, I have developed practical experience guiding travelers through some of the best-known trekking routes in the Everest region. My main guiding areas include Everest Base Camp, Everest View, Gokyo Valley, the high-pass routes commonly known as the Three Passes, and other trekking trails throughout the Everest region. Repeated experience on these routes has helped me understand trail conditions, daily walking stages, altitude changes, accommodation points and the different challenges trekkers may face during a Himalayan journey. For me, guiding is about much more than showing the way. I want travelers to feel comfortable and supported throughout their trek while also experiencing the people, landscapes and mountain culture of the Everest region. I pay attention to the pace of the group, changing weather and trail conditions, and how guests are adapting as we move to higher elevations. I enjoy meeting travelers from different countries and helping them experience the Himalayas in a safe, enjoyable and personal way. I can communicate in English and Hindi and I am also learning German, which helps me connect with guests from different backgrounds. My goal on every trek is to help my guests enjoy the journey, not simply reach the final destination. Whether we are walking toward Everest Base Camp, exploring the Gokyo Valley or crossing the high passes of Khumbu, I want travelers to return home with meaningful memories of Nepal's mountains, communities and way of life.
