About Manish
Namaste! My name is Manish Tamang, and I am a professional trekking and expedition guide from Nepal with more than 15 years of trekking experience and eight years of experience in expedition and summit-focused journeys.
My background combines multi-day Himalayan trekking, remote mountain routes, high-altitude travel, and peak expeditions. Over the years, I have gained experience across a wide range of destinations, including Langtang, Gosaikunda, Manaslu, Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, Upper Mustang, the Annapurna Circuit, and the Manaslu Circuit.
In addition to trekking, I have also spent eight years working in expedition environments. My summit experience includes Everest, Amadablam, Cholatse, Mera Peak, Chulu Far East, Lobuche and Island Peak, giving me practical experience with journeys that go beyond standard trekking and require greater preparation, teamwork, endurance, and attention to high-altitude conditions.
This combination of trekking and expedition experience has shaped the way I work as a guide. I understand that a base-camp trek, a remote circuit, and a summit journey can demand very different levels of preparation and support. I try to understand each traveler’s experience, physical ability, confidence, and goals before and during the journey so I can guide them appropriately.
My experience in areas such as Manaslu and Upper Mustang has also introduced me to more remote trekking environments, while routes such as Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, and the Annapurna Circuit have given me extensive experience with some of Nepal’s major Himalayan journeys.
My guiding style is practical, calm, supportive, and focused on teamwork. I believe good communication becomes especially important on longer treks and expedition-style journeys, where conditions, energy levels, and plans may need to change along the way.
For me, the mountains are not simply a workplace. After many years on Himalayan trails and high-altitude routes, guiding has become a major part of my life. I enjoy helping travelers challenge themselves, experience Nepal’s landscapes and communities, and build confidence throughout their journey.
Whether I am guiding a classic trekking route, a remote circuit, or a summit-focused adventure, my goal is to provide a professional and well-supported experience that allows travelers to appreciate both the challenge and the beauty of Nepal’s mountains.
