Namaste! My name is Manoj Shahi, and I am a professional trekking guide from Nepal with 10 years of experience exploring and guiding through some of the country’s most important Himalayan trekking regions. I am based in Patan and have developed my guiding experience mainly across the Annapurna, Manaslu, and Langtang regions, as well as around Pokhara. Working across these three major trekking regions has given me experience with very different landscapes, trail environments, villages, and styles of mountain travel. I enjoy helping travelers understand what makes each region unique rather than treating every trek in the same way. The Annapurna region offers a wide range of mountain experiences, with scenic trails, traditional communities, forests, and dramatic Himalayan views. Being familiar with Pokhara also allows me to support travelers before or after their trek and help them enjoy one of Nepal’s most important gateways to the mountains. The Manaslu region offers a different type of journey, with more remote landscapes, mountain settlements, and longer trekking routes. I enjoy the sense of adventure and discovery that comes with traveling through areas where the trail experience feels quieter and more connected to the surrounding communities. Langtang is another region that has been an important part of my trekking experience. Its valleys, mountain scenery, forests, and villages offer travelers a rewarding Himalayan journey with its own distinct atmosphere. Over 10 years of guiding, I have learned that every traveler approaches trekking differently. Some guests are experienced hikers, while others may be joining their first multi-day Himalayan trek. I try to understand each traveler’s pace, fitness level, expectations, and interests so that the journey feels comfortable and well suited to them. My guiding style is friendly, practical, flexible, and supportive. I believe that trekking is not only about reaching the final destination. The landscapes, villages, people, conversations, and experiences along the way are equally important parts of the journey. I speak English and enjoy working with international travelers from different backgrounds. Meeting people from around the world and helping them experience Nepal’s mountains is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. My goal is to provide travelers with a professional and memorable trekking experience while helping them appreciate the different landscapes, communities, and character of the Annapurna, Manaslu, and Langtang regions.
