Mingmar Dorje Sherpa

I have been involved in Nepal’s trekking field since 2002. After an interruption in the early years, I returned to trekking work in 2007 and have continued working with travelers from different countries and with different trekking teams. Over the years, I have gained practical experience as a trekking guide, route guide, and trekking cook, which has helped me understand both the trail and the day-to-day needs of guests during a journey. My trekking experience covers many of Nepal’s well-known high-altitude and remote routes. I have worked in Langtang and Gosaikunda, Helambu and Ama Yangri, Tsum Valley and Manaslu, Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo, the Everest region including Everest Base Camp and the Three Passes, the Annapurna region including Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill, and the Mera Peak area. Working in such different regions has given me experience with changing terrain, long trekking days, remote settlements, mountain weather, accommodation, route planning, and the practical challenges that can arise during a trek. I completed Trekking Guide Training at the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management in 2015, where I achieved Grade A. I also hold a trekking guide license. My experience on the trail has taught me that guiding is not only about showing the correct route. It is also about understanding the pace and needs of each traveler, helping the group stay organized, and supporting guests throughout their journey. I enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and sharing the landscapes, mountain communities, and trekking experiences of Nepal with them. Whether I am working as a guide, helping with route planning, or supporting the group with cooking and daily trekking arrangements, I try to use my experience to make the journey comfortable, well-managed, and memorable.
