About Netra
I am Netra Bahadur Tamang, a licensed trekking guide from Dolakha, Nepal. I come from Baiteshwor in Dolakha, an area surrounded by hills, traditional villages, and mountain landscapes. Growing up in this environment gave me a natural connection with Nepal’s trails, rural communities, and outdoor way of life. I enjoy sharing this connection with travelers who want to experience Nepal beyond the usual tourist areas and understand the people, places, and landscapes they encounter along the way.
As a trekking guide, I focus on helping travelers have a safe, comfortable, and well-organized journey. During a trek, I pay attention to the pace and comfort of the people I am guiding and help them adjust to the conditions of the trail. I also assist with day-to-day coordination and provide practical guidance about the route, walking conditions, local customs, and the mountain environment. I believe a good trekking experience is not only about reaching a destination, but also about enjoying the journey and feeling supported throughout it.
I especially enjoy introducing travelers to the local side of Nepal. Trekking provides opportunities to walk through villages, meet local people, observe traditional lifestyles, and experience the natural beauty of different regions. I try to create a friendly atmosphere where travelers feel comfortable asking questions and learning about the places they visit. I value respectful travel and encourage guests to appreciate local communities, culture, and the natural environment while exploring Nepal.
For me, guiding is about responsibility, communication, and creating a positive experience for every traveler. Different people have different levels of fitness, interests, and expectations, so I believe it is important to remain patient, flexible, and attentive during a journey. Whether someone is visiting Nepal for the first time or returning for another Himalayan adventure, I aim to provide dependable local support and help make their trekking experience enjoyable and memorable.
