Omraj Tamang

My name is Omraj Tamang, and I am a professional trekking guide from Gorkha, Nepal. I am originally from Simjung in Gorkha and currently live in Boudha, Kathmandu. I have around four years of experience in Nepal’s trekking industry. I spent three years working as a guide assistant and Sherpa before progressing to work as a trekking guide. This experience has helped me learn trekking operations from the ground up and understand how to support travelers throughout a mountain journey. My trekking experience includes the Manaslu region, Langtang, and Annapurna Base Camp. I have also explored and guided hiking routes around the Kathmandu Valley and nearby hills, including Manichud, Tarkeshwor, Champadevi, Sailung, and Latarambeshwor. I enjoy working in the mountains and helping travelers discover Nepal’s landscapes, villages, trails, and local communities. Having worked first as an assistant and later as a guide has helped me understand the importance of teamwork, guest support, route awareness, communication, and careful preparation. I can communicate in Nepali, English, and Hyolmo, which helps me interact with travelers as well as local communities along different trekking routes. As I continue developing my professional guiding career, I look forward to gaining more experience across Nepal and helping travelers enjoy safe, organized, and memorable trekking and hiking journeys.
