About Rajiv
Namaste, my name is Rajiv Suwal. I am a professional cultural and trekking guide from Bhaktapur, Nepal, with two years of guiding experience. I have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mountaineering Studies, which has given me an academic foundation in mountain tourism, trekking, Himalayan environments, and responsible travel. Along with my education, I hold government-issued credentials for both tourist guiding and trekking guiding in Nepal.
My guiding experience includes trekking journeys in the Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Manaslu, and Makalu regions. I enjoy introducing travelers to Nepal’s mountain landscapes while helping them understand the communities, traditions, and everyday life found along the trails. I believe a good trekking experience is not only about reaching a destination, but also about traveling safely, understanding the environment, and building a meaningful connection with the places and people encountered along the way.
I also guide cultural and sightseeing tours, particularly in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Coming from Bhaktapur, a city known for its living heritage, traditional architecture, temples, festivals, and local culture, I have a strong interest in sharing Nepal’s history and cultural traditions with visitors. I enjoy explaining local customs and helping guests experience Nepal beyond simply visiting its major attractions.
I communicate in English and also have basic German language skills. When guiding, I focus on clear communication, guest comfort, safety, responsible travel, and a friendly atmosphere. Whether I am accompanying travelers on a Himalayan trek or introducing them to Nepal’s cultural heritage, my goal is to provide a well-organized, informative, comfortable, and memorable experience.
