Namaste! I am Santosh Tamang, a trekking guide from Nepal with seven years of professional experience in the tourism and trekking sector. I enjoy working in the mountains and helping travelers experience Nepal through challenging trails, dramatic scenery, and the unique communities found along the way. My experience includes Manang, Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, and Larke Pass. These routes have exposed me to different types of terrain, elevations, weather conditions, and trekking environments, from established mountain trails to demanding high-altitude sections. I particularly enjoy the challenge involved in high-altitude trekking. Routes involving mountain passes require preparation, steady pacing, and attention to changing conditions. I aim to help travelers approach these experiences with confidence while still enjoying the scenery and atmosphere of the trail. The journeys I have guided also offer much more than physical adventure. Mountain villages, local traditions, changing landscapes, and encounters with people along the trail provide opportunities to experience Nepal from a closer perspective. I understand that travelers have different levels of trekking experience and different reasons for coming to the Himalayas. Some are attracted by the challenge of reaching a high-altitude destination, while others are interested in mountain scenery, photography, nature, or local culture. I try to support each traveler according to their interests and pace. I speak English and enjoy communicating with travelers from different countries. Clear communication is especially important during longer and more demanding treks, where travelers may need practical information about the trail, conditions, and daily activities. After seven years in the profession, I continue to enjoy exploring Nepal's mountain environments and meeting people from around the world. I aim to combine practical trail knowledge with a friendly and supportive approach throughout each trek. My goal is to help travelers experience the Himalayas through well-supported adventures, challenging mountain routes, spectacular landscapes, and genuine connections with the places and communities along the trail.
