About Shambhu
I am Shambhu Maharjan, a professional tour guide from Lalitpur, Nepal, with 20 years of experience guiding travelers through different parts of my country. Over the years, I have gained experience in cultural sightseeing, historical destinations, local communities, scenic journeys and Himalayan trekking routes. I guide in English and French, helping visitors discover Nepal's places and traditions through local knowledge and personal interaction.
My guiding experience includes Kathmandu, Patan, Bhaktapur and Kirtipur, where travelers can explore historic neighborhoods, traditional architecture, temples, heritage sites and local ways of life. I also cover Nagarkot, Namobuddha, Dhulikhel and Panauti, destinations known for their cultural significance, traditional settlements and beautiful surroundings. I enjoy introducing visitors to the stories and traditions that make these places meaningful.
Beyond Kathmandu Valley, my destinations include Pokhara, Palpa, Lumbini, Chitwan, Bandipur and Gorkha. Each destination offers something different, from the cultural and religious importance of Lumbini to the landscapes around Pokhara and the historic towns of central Nepal. I enjoy helping travelers experience the variety of Nepal rather than seeing each destination as just another sightseeing stop.
My experience also extends to trekking destinations, including Ghorepani and Poon Hill, Annapurna Base Camp, Mardi Himal, Muktinath, Langtang, Gosaikunda and Everest Base Camp. These journeys offer opportunities to experience mountain landscapes, rural settlements and the cultural traditions of Nepal's Himalayan communities.
