About Sharad
Namaste! My name is Sharad Bhandari, and I am a professional trekking guide and yoga instructor with 10 years of experience working in Nepal’s Himalayan regions. My guiding experience is focused mainly on the Langtang and Annapurna regions, where I enjoy helping travelers experience the mountains through trekking, nature, local culture, and a more mindful approach to travel.
What makes my guiding background different is the combination of trekking and yoga. I believe the Himalayas provide a natural environment for both physical adventure and personal wellbeing. Trekking challenges the body and creates opportunities to connect with nature, while yoga can support mobility, relaxation, breathing awareness, and recovery during or around the journey.
My experience in the Langtang and Annapurna regions has introduced me to different mountain landscapes, village communities, forest trails, valleys, and trekking environments. I enjoy helping travelers appreciate not only the destination but also the rhythm of the journey, the changing scenery, and the quieter moments that come from spending time in the mountains.
Over the past 10 years, I have worked with travelers who have different levels of trekking experience and different reasons for visiting Nepal. Some guests are looking for an active Himalayan adventure, while others want a journey that also includes relaxation, reflection, or wellness. My combined background allows me to support both approaches.
My guiding style is calm, encouraging, flexible, and attentive to the individual. I believe that every traveler has a different pace, energy level, and expectation. Rather than rushing through a route, I prefer to create an experience where guests have time to appreciate the surroundings, rest when needed, and stay connected with their bodies throughout the journey.
As a yoga instructor, I can also bring elements of mindful movement, stretching, breathing, and relaxation into suitable trekking experiences. These practices can complement mountain travel and create a more balanced experience for guests interested in wellness-focused journeys.
I speak English and enjoy working with international travelers from different backgrounds. For me, guiding is about more than reaching a trekking destination. It is about creating an experience that combines movement, nature, culture, wellbeing, and meaningful time in the Himalayas.
My goal is to help travelers experience Nepal in a way that feels both adventurous and restorative, whether they are trekking through Langtang, exploring the Annapurna region, or looking for a journey that combines Himalayan landscapes with yoga and mindful travel.
