Som Bahadur Tamang

I am Som Bahadur Tamang, a trekking guide from Nepal with 4 years of professional guiding experience in the Himalayas. I am currently based in Tokha, Kathmandu, and I have experience guiding travelers through some of Nepal’s best-known trekking regions, including Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang and Rolwaling. My guiding experience includes Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Manaslu Circuit, Mardi Himal, Langtang, Tsho Rolpa and high mountain routes such as Kang La Pass. I have also been involved in adventures to Mera Peak and Island Peak. Working across different mountain environments has helped me develop practical experience in route management, high-altitude trekking, changing trail conditions and supporting guests throughout demanding journeys. When I guide, I pay attention to the individual needs of each traveler. People walk at different speeds and respond differently to altitude and long trekking days, so I believe patience, communication and careful observation are important parts of guiding. My aim is to help guests feel comfortable and supported while enjoying the mountains at a suitable pace. I also enjoy introducing travelers to the communities, landscapes and local life they encounter along the trail. A Himalayan journey is not only about reaching a base camp, pass or summit area. The villages, people, traditions and experiences along the way are equally important. I want travelers who trek with me to return home with meaningful memories of both Nepal’s mountains and its people.
