Namaste! I am Som Kuskumajhi, an experienced trekking and tour guide from Nepal with 15 years of professional experience. Since beginning my guiding career in 2011, I have worked across a range of Himalayan environments and developed a broad understanding of Nepal's trekking routes, mountain landscapes, and travel experiences. My experience includes the Everest, Manaslu, Langtang, and Annapurna regions, as well as Mardi Himal. Working across these areas has exposed me to different elevations, terrain, landscapes, villages, and local communities. I enjoy the variety that comes with guiding in Nepal. A trek can take travelers through forests, rural settlements, mountain viewpoints, and high-altitude landscapes, while each region has its own character and traditions. I enjoy helping visitors appreciate these differences rather than focusing only on reaching the final destination. My experience across both trekking and tour guiding allows me to work with travelers interested in different styles of travel. Some may be looking for an active Himalayan adventure, while others may want to combine trekking with cultural exploration and sightseeing. Over the years, I have developed practical familiarity with multi-day trekking and the conditions travelers may encounter in the mountains. I aim to provide clear guidance and dependable support while giving travelers the freedom to enjoy the experience at their own pace. I speak English and enjoy meeting travelers from different countries and backgrounds. Good communication is an important part of guiding, particularly during longer treks where travelers and guides spend significant time together. I believe that Nepal's appeal comes from the combination of its mountains, landscapes, communities, and traditions. The conversations in villages, changing scenery along the trail, and encounters with local life can be just as memorable as the major viewpoints and destinations. With 15 years in the profession, I continue to enjoy introducing visitors to Nepal and helping them experience the country in a meaningful way. Whether travelers are interested in trekking, mountain scenery, nature, or cultural experiences, I aim to create a journey that is comfortable, engaging, and memorable.
