About Tilak
Namaste! I am Tilak Bahadur Thapa, an experienced trekking guide from Nepal with 15 years of professional experience guiding travelers through the Himalayas. Over the years, I have developed extensive practical knowledge of Nepal's mountain trails, trekking environments, local communities, and the experiences that make a Himalayan journey memorable.
My guiding experience includes Annapurna Base Camp, Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Api Himal Base Camp, Pikey Peak, Mardi Himal Base Camp and the Manaslu region. These destinations offer travelers a diverse range of Himalayan experiences, from spectacular mountain scenery and high-altitude landscapes to traditional villages and culturally rich mountain communities.
I enjoy helping travelers experience the mountains beyond simply reaching a destination. For me, the journey itself is an important part of trekking — walking through changing landscapes, meeting local people, experiencing village life, and taking time to appreciate the surrounding environment.
As a local trekking guide, I provide practical route guidance, local knowledge, trekking support, and assistance throughout the journey. With 15 years of experience, I understand that travelers come with different interests, expectations, and levels of trekking experience. I aim to provide friendly, professional, and personalized guidance suited to each traveler.
The destinations I guide each offer a unique perspective of the Himalayas. Everest Base Camp provides an iconic high-altitude adventure, Annapurna Base Camp offers dramatic mountain scenery and diverse landscapes, while the Manaslu region provides opportunities to experience remote mountain environments and traditional communities.
I believe that trekking in Nepal is about more than the mountains themselves. The people, cultures, villages, landscapes, and stories encountered along the trail are an important part of the journey. I enjoy sharing my local knowledge and helping travelers understand and appreciate these different aspects of Himalayan travel.
I speak English and Japanese and enjoy welcoming travelers from different countries and backgrounds. Whether you are planning your first Himalayan adventure or returning to Nepal to explore its mountains again, I aim to provide dependable guidance and help make your journey comfortable, enjoyable, and memorable.
My goal is to help travelers discover Nepal through authentic mountain experiences, local knowledge, genuine hospitality, and meaningful connections with the landscapes and communities along the trail.
