Anish Tamang

I began my journey in Nepal’s trekking industry in 2015, starting as a kitchen assistant. Working behind the scenes gave me a strong understanding of how trekking and expedition teams operate, from daily logistics and teamwork to the importance of preparation in remote mountain environments. After around two and a half years, I progressed to working as an assistant guide, where I gained more direct experience supporting trekkers and climbers in the Himalayas. My climbing journey became more focused in 2019 after successfully summiting Mera Peak, Lobuche Peak, and Island Peak. Since then, I have continued building my experience in high-altitude mountaineering and expedition guiding. My climbing experience includes three successful ascents of Mount Everest, two ascents of Mount Manaslu, one ascent of Annapurna I, and two ascents of Ama Dablam. Over the years, I have learned that success in the mountains depends on much more than reaching the summit. Good acclimatization, careful preparation, clear communication, teamwork, and making the right decisions at the right time are all essential. I always pay close attention to weather conditions, altitude, route conditions, and the physical condition of each member of the team. I am a licensed trekking guide and have also completed Wilderness First Aid training, which has strengthened my knowledge of managing common wilderness and high-altitude emergencies. Safety is always one of my highest priorities, and I believe a successful journey is one where everyone returns safely with a meaningful experience. Whether I am guiding a multi-day trek, a trekking peak, or a high-altitude expedition, I aim to support each traveler with patience, responsibility, and respect for the mountains. I want the people I guide to feel prepared, confident, and supported throughout their journey while experiencing the beauty and challenge of Nepal’s Himalayas.
