Ask for a review only when the traveler is eligible under GuideMeet’s current policy and has had a relevant experience.
Use neutral language
Say: “If you are eligible, you’re welcome to share an honest review of your experience on GuideMeet.”
Do not say: “Please leave five stars,” “Remove the review and I will refund you,” or “You must write something positive to receive a benefit.”
Do not manipulate the timing
Avoid asking only travelers who praise you privately while discouraging unhappy travelers. Do not review your own profile or ask friends, staff or family to pose as travelers.
Do not script the opinion
You may remind a traveler which experience they had, but do not provide a ready-made positive paragraph. The review should be the traveler’s own honest account.
Respond professionally
GuideMeet’s preferred mechanism allows one guide reply. Use it to thank, clarify carefully or describe a constructive change—never to threaten or reveal private details.
The FTC’s U.S. rule is jurisdiction-specific, but its treatment of fake reviews, sentiment-conditioned incentives and suppression reflects useful integrity principles for a global platform.
